Endometriosis

Endometrial

Endometriosis is a chronic and often painful condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus (endometrium) grows outside the uterus, commonly on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and other pelvic organs. At Brundavan Nursing Home, we recognize the impact that endometriosis can have on women’s health and well-being, and we offer comprehensive services to diagnose, manage, and treat this condition effectively.

  • Diagnostic Evaluation: We begin by conducting a thorough diagnostic evaluation to confirm the presence of endometriosis and assess its severity. This may involve a combination of medical history review, pelvic examination, imaging tests (such as ultrasound or MRI), and minimally invasive procedures such as laparoscopy to visualize and biopsy abnormal tissue.

  • Pain Management: Endometriosis often causes significant pelvic pain, especially during menstruation and sexual intercourse. We offer a range of pain management strategies to help alleviate symptoms and improve the patient’s quality of life. This may include over-the-counter or prescription pain medications, hormone therapy to suppress menstruation and reduce pain, and complementary therapies such as acupuncture or physical therapy.

  • Hormonal Therapy: Hormonal therapy is often used to manage endometriosis by suppressing the growth of endometrial tissue and reducing symptoms such as pain and menstrual irregularities. We may prescribe oral contraceptives, progestins, gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists, or other hormonal medications to help regulate the menstrual cycle and alleviate symptoms.

  • Surgical Treatment: In cases where endometriosis is severe or causing complications such as ovarian cysts (endometriomas) or scar tissue (adhesions), surgical intervention may be necessary. We offer minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery to remove endometrial implants, cysts, and scar tissue while preserving fertility whenever possible. In cases of extensive disease or severe symptoms, a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) or oophorectomy (removal of the ovaries) may be considered.

  • Fertility Preservation: Endometriosis can have a significant impact on fertility, but many women with the condition are still able to conceive with appropriate management and treatment. We offer fertility preservation options for women with endometriosis who wish to conceive, including assisted reproductive technologies such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), ovarian stimulation, and oocyte retrieval.

  • Lifestyle Modifications: We provide guidance on lifestyle modifications that may help manage endometriosis symptoms and improve overall health and well-being. This may include dietary changes, regular exercise, stress management techniques, and strategies to promote adequate sleep and relaxation.

  • Patient Education and Support: We believe in empowering patients with knowledge and resources to better understand and manage their condition. We offer patient education materials, support groups, and counseling services to help women with endometriosis cope with the physical and emotional challenges of living with a chronic illness.
